Mona Vay Cobb Parks April 1, 1930 ~ September 19, 2007
OGDEN a" Mona Parks passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2007, after a courageous five and a half year battle with cancer.
Mona was born April 1, 1930 in Ogden, a daughter of William L. and Lou Peterson Cobb. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1948.
On June 26, 1951, she married the love of her life, Robert V. Parks in Ogden. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on June 5, 1974.
She had worked at Mountain Bell Telephone Company, Ogden Clinic, and See''s Candy.
Mona and Bob enjoyed traveling and traveled around the United States including Alaska and Hawaii, and also to Canada and Europe. When not traveling, she loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and quilting.
Surviving are her loving husband Robert of Ogden; two daughters, Teri Parks, Roy; Tracy (Dale) Stoker, North Ogden; four grandchildren, Amber (Kenyon) Rasmussen, Mallory (Nate) Steele, Logan Stoker, serving an LDS Mission in Peru; and Jace Stoker; and two great-grandchildren, Samantha Rasmussen and Landon Steele.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Betty Higginson, and two nieces, Barbara and Mary.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gray, his nurses and staff for their care and friendship given during the past five years of treatment. We would also like to thank Alpine Hospice for their concern and compassion, especially Andrea and Jill, who took such good care of her.
Per Mona''s request, graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
