Morris Broderick Stoddard
1930 ~ 2011
LAYTON a" Morris Broderick Stoddard returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Davis Hospital, Layton, Utah. He was born June 23, 1930 at Consumers, Carbon County, Utah to Wilford Earl and Iva Lucille Broderick Stoddard.
He married Ella Rae Gailey October 20, 1950 in Wellington, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles, California LDS Temple. This union was blessed with six children. Ella Rae and Morris were later divorced. He married Carolyn Hogan Brundage November 14, 1970 in West Bountiful, Utah. This marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
After 30 years of civil service at various locations, he retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1979. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a High Priest in the Woodland Park Ward.
Preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and an infant brother. Survived by one sister, Iva Scott, Farmington, UT; his children: Sheri (Burt) Alder, Apple Valley, CA; Earl Stoddard, Salt Lake City; Gaylene (Ronald) Hansen, Aurora, CO; Doug (Jeri) Stoddard, Florence, SC; Ann Atchley, Roy, UT; Midge (Craig) Nielsen, West Valley City, UT; 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two step-daughters, Mikalyn (Bradley) Egan, Layton, UT; Collett (David) Draper, Battle Creek, MI; seven step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
