Morris “Skip” Vaughn Huffman, Jr.

January 15, 1949 ~ June 2, 2019

Morris Vaughn Huffman, Jr. “Skip” from Harrisville, UT passed away unexpectedly on June 2, 2019 in Lincoln, NE at the age of 70.

Skip was born in Glendale, CA on January 15, 1949 to Morris Vaughn Huffman, Sr. and June Octavia Winchell. He graduated from Hoover High School and went on to study at Utah State University where he met his wife, Kae, on a blind date. With some luck, he convinced her to marry him and they wed on May 21, 1973 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple.

After many different career adventures, Skip settled down in the concrete industry to the extent that his family can spot a concrete plant from a distance and knows the difference between concrete and cement. Through his work, he had the opportunity to bring along his family to explore new places. It also gave him a captive audience to pass along his love of dad jokes and cheesy music. Over the years, the Huffman family lived in Utah, Oregon, Colorado, and most recently back in Utah.

Skip was well known to his customers for how much he cared about them and their businesses and the integrity by which he conducted himself. Later in life he graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Business, showing his dedication and the importance he placed on life-long education. He was most recently retired and enjoyed spending time with his wife, catching up on sports and spoiling his grandchildren.

At the age of 15, Skip joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Service was a big part of Skip’s life. He often shared his talents in countless callings and provided service to those in need.

Skip will be remembered for his jokes, his work ethic, his value of education, his generosity, and his love and support for his family.

His memory will be cherished by his wife, Kae Thompson Huffman; his children, Nicole Huffman, Oregon; Donovan (Courtney) Huffman, Utah; Suzanne (Nakul) Bharade, New Zealand; and Rebecca (Kyle) Beaver, Utah/Tennessee; and his grandchildren, Gabriel Huffman, Caroline Huffman, Madelynn Huffman, John Beaver, and Arian Bharade. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister; and his son, Jeremy Grant Huffman.

A Memorial Service for Skip will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Harrisville 4th Ward Chapel, 480 West 2000 North. Friends may visit with family on Friday, June 7th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.  and Saturday June 8th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Smithfield City Cemetery, at 2 p.m.

The family wishes to thank the Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, the Live On Nebraska organ donation and his sweet cousins for caring for him while he was away from home when he passed.
