“Together Forever”
SOUTH OGDEN – Moyle S. Moss, 97, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at his home of causes incident to age. He was born on December 3, 1916 in Hooper, a son of Lee Roy and Lucille Schofield Moss.
On June 13, 1943, Moyle married his eternal sweetheart, Dorothy Johnson in Malad, ID. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 13, 1944. They enjoyed 65 sacred years together before Dorothy’s passing. The following years alone only made Moyle’s love for his “Sweetheart” deeper and more eternal. Moyle and Dorothy were proud to be the parents of seven beautiful daughters who they loved dearly.
Moyle was raised in West Point and grew up working the family farm after his father’s passing when Moyle was only 10 years old. He was a graduate of Davis High School. Moyle could fix anything and spent many years running his own service station and later retired from Cutter Laboratories where he worked as a Maintenance Supervisor.
Moyle was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many callings including counselor in the bishopric, on the High Council, as a High Priest Group Leader (in his late 80’s), and a missionary on an Area Mission with his sweetheart. His favorite calling was with the Senior Aaronic where his efforts brought many families to the temple and closer to God. He loved attending the temple every Tuesday with his sweet wife.
Moyle loved camping, hunting, and fishing with his family and spent many summer vacations in Yellowstone and other National Parks. He enjoyed working in his yard that was full of trees and made him feel like he was in the canyon. He loved his lot on the Southfork River and enjoyed the time he spent there. Most of his time was spent in the service of others. He had many neighbors who depended on Moyle whenever in need.
Surviving are one son, David (Irene) Ellis, Ogden; and seven daughters, Pam (Wayne) Farr, Heber City; Tam (John) Cypers, Riverdale; Marilyn (Manuel) Cypers, South Ogden; Luann (Loy) Brown, Cedar City; Bev (Steve) Nye, Syracuse; Lynette (Allen) Webb, Layton; Barbara (Lance) Harper, Roy; 69 grandchildren and spouses, 110 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild with three more on the way…totaling 194 in his posterity and growing!
