Muriel Bateman Maw

July 4, 1922 ~ May 13, 2017

OGDEN – Our beloved mother and friend passed away peacefully at home on May 13, 2017.

Muriel was born on the 4th of July, 1922 to George A. and Ivy G. Bateman. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Muriel married the love of her life Dale C. Maw on June 13, 1945.  Together they opened “The Valet Shop” in the basement of the Ben Lomond Hotel and later, Maw’s Select Dry Cleaners on Washington Blvd. where they worked together side by side for 50 years.

Muriel’s many loves centered around her family, her husband, children, grandchildren, and her sisters.  She loved spending time at their place in Morgan valley and spending time with her family in Montana.  She had a very special place of love in her heart for her nieces and nephews.

Muriel is survived by her loving children, Carlin (Pattie) Maw, Steven (Susan) Maw, Forrest (Stephanie) Maw, and Bryce (Yvonne) Maw.  Also surviving are her 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.  Muriel was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, three brothers, and six sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Thursday, May 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Misty Moore and children for their loving care and kindness.

Special thanks to Gina Maughn and the entire staff at Stonehenge of Ogden and to Kyle, Rose, and Kristy of One Care Hospice for their loving care.
