Myran Hendersen Vockel
LAYTON a" Myran Hendersen Vockel, 87, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2009 while living near his son Steve and wife Lorraine.
He was born in Lafette, CO to parents Eva Marie Vockel and his late father Monte Hendersen. He was adopted by Paul Vockel in 1939. He married Mary Jane Rowe in June 1944. She was the love of his life (she was his life). They resided in the Denver, CO area for 54 years.
He had two sons, Stephen Gary (Lorraine) Vockel of Layton and Gregory Rowe Vockel who preceded him in death. He is the grandfather of seven and the great-grandfather of 15.
Dad died of natural causes at Chancellor Gardens in Clearfield, Utah. The family would like to give thanks to the nurses and staff at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living, Chancellor Gardens and Gentle Care Hospice.
Dad loved life and he lived it to the fullest. His journey was a good one. He lived to make people laugh. He was a proud American who served and loved his country. Myran served as a Navy Pharmacy Mate before working for Merck Sharpe and Dome for 37 years.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, grandson and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.
