Myrle V. Hayes
ROY - Myrle Vaughn Hayes, 88, of Monta Vista, died Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the Washington Terrace Health Center.
She was born in Ogden on September 30, 1919 to John Thomas and Cecilia Fife Vaughn.
Myrle married Harlow Harvey Hayes of Roy, Utah, on November 1, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In a personal history she mentioned her old friends, Florence, Dorathy, Pearl, Bertha, and Blanch whom she loved dearly. They all attended school in a one room school house, then, at Central Junior High and Ogden High School. She worked as a seamstress at the LDS Garment Factory and also at the Del Monte Cannery in Ogden, Utah.
Myrle loved her grandchildren more than life itself. She also loved crocheting and fishing with Dad. She served in Primary and the Relief Society of the LDS Church.
She is survived by her husband, and two sons, Steve (Sandy) Hayes, Henefer; Michael H (Liz) Hayes, Clinton; eight grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren on the way. Also surviving is one sister, Mary Ellen (Joe) Nalder, Roy.
Preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers and two sisters, Adrian (Viola) Vaughn, John (Martha) Vaughn, Basil J. (Elva) Vaughn, Roy (Tiny) Vaughn; Cecila (Joseph) Natural, and Emily (Bud) Dial.
The family expresses their gratitude for the professional care given to her by Hospice and caregivers at the Washington Terrace Health Center. Also, Marsha from the Red Cross who assisted in bringing a family member home from military service.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November, 21, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
