Myrna, 93, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 surrounded by family and friends. Born in Blackfoot, ID. to Justin and Francis Nelson on January 5, 1928. Myrna grew up in Brigham with sisters, Maxine Coats, Doris Pettingill, Bonnie Haslam and Sheryl Nelson.
She married Darel H Benson in 1947 where they sealed their vows in the LDS Temple lasting 65 years until dad’s death in 2011.
Myrna worked at the IRS Ogden Center for 20 years. Myrna, the loving mother of 3, Terry (Jerry) Hadley, D. She was a true “snow bird” for 31 years, Yuma was her second home when they weren’t camping at the Eagles Campground in Huntsville. She loved sports, basketball and baseball, especially the Jazz and Braves. She was an amazing bowler and actually took state one year. Picked up reading late in life. For more than 60 years she was a valued auxiliary member and officer with the FOE (Eagles). She recently got involved with the Daughters of Pioneers which peaked her interest in genealogy. She loved shopping at the dollar store and going out to eat, especially at Texas Roadhouse, her favorite. She truly was a gift from God. Her caring, kind words and generosity made her stand out from most.
Memorial service will be held Monday January 17, 2022 from 11 to 1 p.m. at the LDS Church, 1608 13th Street, Ogden UT. The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Ogden UT. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
