Myron Glade Smith

September 30, 1938 — September 20, 2024

Myron Glade Smith was born September 30, 1938, to Norma May Mecham and Robert Glen Smith on a dairy farm in American Fork, Utah. He had five brothers and one sister: Robert, Glen, LeGrande, Stanley, Steven, and RoseMary. He died September 20, 2024, having suffered from Parkinson's and dementia.

Myron graduated from American Fork High School in 1956. In 1957, he married Esther Day in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had eight delightful children Laurel, Annette, Myron Kendell, Melanie, Michael, Angela, Melinda, and Benjamin, who treasured his love, laughter, music, and stories. The family has resided in Kaysville for the last fifty-three years where they have enjoyed warm interactions with neighbors and ward members.

He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. He especially enjoyed his musical opportunities directing and singing, and his service as an ordinance worker at the Bountiful Utah Temple.

Myron worked as a civil servant for forty years. He was a supervisor in the International Logistics Branch. He was grateful to have been treated well by the many countries he worked with including Pakistan, Egypt, Israel, Sinapore, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands.

He is survived by his loving wife, Esther, and children: Laurel (Walt) Moyer; Ronnie Madruga; Kendell (Janette) Smith; Melanie (Dave) Richardson; Michael (Lori) Smith; Angie (Robert) Archibald; Mindy (Eric) Smith; his 22 grandchildren, and 21great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Glen Mecham Smith, his daughter, Annette Norma Smith Madruga, and his son Benjamin Oliver Smith.

The family expresses deep gratitude for the extended hospice care by A Plus Benefits. Thanks especially to Julie, Sarraya, and Annette Day.
