Myrtle Nord Schofield
Myrtle Nord Schofield, 88, of Clearfield, died Sunday, November 4, 2007 at her home. She was born Sept. 22, 1919 in Layton, UT, a daughter of John and Margaret Finley Nord. Myrtle married Walter Len Schofield on March 30, 1940. Their marriage was later solemnized December 14, 1959 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple.
She lived all of her life in Layton moving to Clearfield in 1997. She graduated from Davis High School and was employed at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed going to the Temple every Wednesday with friends. She loved the Lord very much and loved doing his work.
She enjoyed the blessing of having many good friends and neighbors. Myrtle enjoyed and was an avid Jazz fan. She also loved camping, fishing and sitting around the campfire with family.
Surviving are her two sons, Blaine J. (Gayla) Schofield of Layton; Ronald L. (Gaydene) Schofield of Island Park, Idaho; eight grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Len, her mother and father, John and Margaret Nord, three sisters, one brother and two grandsons, Bryan Schofield, and Jeremy Schofield.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Island View Clearfield Ward, 1895 S. Main St. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
