Nadia Mae Kennedy Nicholas

July 7, 1930 ~ December 2, 2016

Nadia Mae Kennedy Nicholas, 86, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family as a result of pancreatic cancer on December 2, 2016.

Nadia was born in Randolph, Utah, the daughter of Carl and Ellen Kennedy. Her family moved to Ogden when she was eleven years old. She continued her education there, graduating from Ogden High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Leonard Nicholas. They were married for 67 wonderful years.

Nadia was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed gardening and many other activities and served in many church callings, including Relief Society President. Nadia also served alongside her husband as a missionary/host for 16 years at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building where she made many lifelong friends. Her favorite activity, however, was spending time with her family.

Nadia is survived by her husband, Leonard Nicholas, and her six children: Barbara (Mike) Tomney, Ronald (Cristie) Nicholas, Teri (Skeeter) Chadwick, Joni Green, Sharon (Kit) Keller, and Jacki (Mike) Gallegos; as well as 19 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Nadia welcomed everyone and judged no one. She will be deeply missed by her many friends and family members.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. before the service. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT.

In lieu of flowers, the Nicholas family has asked that you donate to your favorite charity.
