Naida Mae Nye Green passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 16, 2011, from natural causes at her residence in Mill Creek, Washington.
She was born September 8, 1921 in Ogden, Utah to Darcey L. Nye and Helen Searle. Naida was in the first graduating class of Ogden High School and attended Weber College.
On January 12, 1943, Naida married William H. Green, Jr. in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Naida was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many positions in many parts of the world.
Her husband was a chaplain in the U.S. Army and Naida accompanied him and raised a family at his stations in Japan, Germany, Colorado, California and Texas. After her husband''s retirement he and Naida moved to Bountiful, Utah in 1971 and resided there until his passing in 2005. Naida then moved to Washington State to be near her children.
Naida had a great love of nature and animals and enjoyed painting as a hobby. She loved to travel and appreciated the beauty of mountains and deserts. She was a loving mother and grandmother and cared deeply for her family.
Naida is survived by her children: Marcia (Alf) Gunn of Gig Harbor, WA; Bradley Green of Sante Fe, NM; and Wayne (Noralee) Green of Mountlake Terrace, WA. Naida also has nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Stephen J. Nye and Darcey D. Nye and her husband, William H. Green.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 22nd at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
The family will meet with friends on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
