Nancy Clark

June 30, 1934 — May 5, 2021

Nancy Mae Gibbs Clark, age 86, died May 5, 2021 of causes incident to age.

Nancy was born into a family who loved her and wanted her. Her parents were Lillie Bell Yelton and Carlos Charles “Corky” Gibbs. Nancy was born on June 30, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She was raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School.

She married her high school sweetheart, Theodore S. “Ted” Clark in the Salt Lake Temple on December 11, 1953. They have been married for 67 amazing years. Nancy has always been a faithful and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has held many positions in all the church organizations. She was especially close to two classes of girls, one in Young Women in Salt Lake and one Primary class in Fruit Heights, Utah. She loved these girls. She served an LDS mission to Vancouver, Canada with Ted in 1995-96.

Nancy and Ted lived in San Diego while Ted completed his obligation to the US Navy. They returned to Salt Lake while Ted went to the University of Utah. Upon graduation, they accepted employment with the Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington. They traveled with Boeing to Washington, Florida, New York and Utah.

Nancy and Ted were known for their yearly “cousin sleep-over”. The grandchildren loved the “stay-awake contest” (some lasting as late as 4 AM), games, prizes, midnight dinners, crafts, etc.

Nancy loved crafts, especially counted cross stitch, quilting, scrap booking and making greeting cards. She loved to read and to swim. She and Ted made chocolates many years for Christmas. She loved to cook and she was known for her organizational skills and for always being on time.

Nancy has had many physical challenges, but her faith has always supported her!

She is survived by her loving husband, Ted, her six children: Richard (Linda), Ann (Kevin), David, Bradley, Kimberly (Brad) and Michael (Noe); 14 Grandchildren: Brandon, Suzy, Joshua, Tyler, Colby, Brielle, Andrew, Jessika, Bryce, Mariah, Michael, Kimberly, Kawehi, and Rylee; 10 Great-grandchildren: Ava, Kamryn, HaLynn, Arianna, Hunter, Shelby, Lexus, Bentley, Tylee and Bryler; her only sibling, a special sister, Karla, whom she has always loved so much, and her niece Cindy.

A grandson, Sean, lives in heaven, as do Nancy’s parents, her wonderful mother-in-law, Meta Long, and her nephew, Steven Howell.
