Nancy Lee Davidson

March 13, 1930 ~ March 7, 2015

LAYTON – Nancy Lee Davidson, 84, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015.  Born and raised in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of Alan Albert and Lillian Laura Soyars Selecman.

Nancy married Thomas Ferguson Davidson, II on November 10, 1951.  They enjoyed 61 wonderful years together. 

She received her Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of North Carolina and an honorary Doctorate of Humanities degree from Weber State University.

Nancy has always been actively involved in community activities: Junior League, Ogden Symphony and Ballet Association, Utah Musical Theatre, St. Benedict’s Volunteers, Cub Scouts, WSU Wildcat Club, Family Counseling Services, and a wide variety of church offices.  In 2001, she received a Weber State Crystal Crest Award and the Unsung Hero Award from the Utah Fund Raising Association.  In 2008, Nancy and Tom received the United Way Community Leader Award.

Nancy is survived by her children, sons, Tom (Kitty) Davidson and Richard (Pamela); daughter, Gwyn (John) Larsen Schmidt; 13 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and son-in-law, David Larsen.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Community Methodist Church, 163 West 4800 South, South Ogden.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

The family would like to thank all of those who have helped with their mother, these past three years especially, Jan Bryant, Encompass Home Health and Hospice, and Fairfield Village Assisted Living in Layton, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Tom and Nancy Davidson Scholarship Endowment at Weber State University, 4108 University Circle, Ogden, UT 84408-4018.
