Nancy Grace Abbott Lott Martin

June 23, 1940 ~ February 8, 2022

Our sweet mom, Nancy Grace Abbott Lott Martin, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in South Ogden, Utah. Nancy was born June 23, 1940 in Brigham City, Utah. She was the second child of six children born to John Oldham and Katie Archibald Abbott. She was always proud that she was named after her grandmothers. She spent the first five years of her life on the family dry farm in Pocatello Valley. When she was seven the family purchased a winter home in Malad, Idaho. She learned the value of hard work at a young age working on the family farm with her family and extended family. She attended school in Malad and made many lifelong friends she grew up with and loved.

She married our dad Calvin Clair Lott on September 11, 1957 in Malad, Idaho. They were blessed with six children. They were later divorced. She married Vernon James Martin on November 23, 1996 in Ogden, Utah.

Mom was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and always had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ. She served in many callings in the Church, but she especially loved serving the children in Primary.

Family was always mom’s first concern. She was a wonderful mother, wife, and homemaker. She was always able to make a lot out of a little. She was a good cook and always provided wonderful meals for our family.

She worked at the Ogden Temple, keeping the temple clean and beautiful. She later worked for Laidlaw Busing as a bus aide. She enjoyed the children on the bus so much. Although mom had many trials in her life, she tried hard to do the best she could.

Nancy is survived by her six children and their spouses, Monte and Gena Lott of Ogden, UT; RaeLene and Jack Briskey of Pleasant View; Nanette and Richard Owens of North Ogden; John and Sandra Lott of Pleasant View; Ronald and Nova Lott of Plain City; and Katrina and Ronald Peterson of Ogden; 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Rick Martin of Ogden, Julie and Dave Rivard of Arkansas, and Derrick Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Martin in 2020; her parents; and all of her siblings.
