Nancy Myers Holt, 74, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully November 20, 2019, surrounded by her family. Nancy was born on January 10, 1945 in Draper, Utah. She was the third of five children born to Carl William Myers and Erma Birch.
Nancy enjoyed cooking and baking, keeping an immaculate yard, gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, painting ceramics, making floral arrangements, and thrift shopping. The holidays were her favorite time of year. Her house was decorated impeccably and she could be found baking holiday treats and watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel.
Nancy also enjoyed spending time at the cabin in Yellowstone, which is where she married Gordon on the South Fork of the Madison River 25 years ago. They could always be found milling around town in West Yellowstone, where she would stock up on her favorite candy, Banana Licorice Monkeys. They never missed a season of performances at the Playmill, and Nancy would always bring trays of her baked treats for the cast. She enjoyed taking rides through Yellowstone Park, going to Old Faithful, and packing picnic lunches to eat in the park.
Nancy loved life and brought joy to so many people through her many efforts to serve others. She was always willing to donate to a charitable cause or donate her time and expertise in the kitchen. She was willing to make meals for families in need, neighbors going through a difficult time, or taking dozens of baked treats to the senior citizen center. She always volunteered to provide the treats for any social gathering she was attending. Nancy never came to any gathering without treats and she always had more than enough to serve an entire Army.
Nancy loved her five sons and their families, her husband Gordon, and her cat Mau, who never missed a meal. She loved family gatherings and parties. Her love for cooking and baking was always the centerpiece of any party. She always made so much food and treats that everyone had enough to take home for the rest of the week.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Gordon Holt, her five sons Michael (Jodi) Cooper, Gary (Erica) Cooper, Cory (Mindy) Cooper, Tony (Jennifer) Cooper, Ronnie (Kelly) Cooper, stepson Holden (Melanie) Holt, 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sister Colleen Bridge, sister Debra Myers, and her beloved cat, Mau. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Rick Myers, brother Frank Myers, and grandson Colby Michael Cooper.
Special thanks to Dr. Mendez, Heather, Whitney, and all of the kind people at the Huntsman Cancer Institute during her treatment. A very special thank you to her hospice staff including Tambi, Carolina, Julie and Sylvia who gave her excellent care. Words cannot express our gratitude to her wonderful neighbors Stacy Underwood, and Craig and Michelle Pesetto for their incredible acts of kindness and support during the past 11 months. They went above and beyond what neighbors do for each other and we truly couldn’t have done it without their help.
