Nancy Anne Lomax Laguillo
1936 – 2015
Nancy Laguillo passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015 in Bountiful, Utah. She was born in Nephi, Utah to Claude Robert (Bob) and Evelyn Lomax. She was the oldest of six children.
Nancy lived her life to the fullest. She moved with a 6-wk old son to Beirut, Lebanon where her husband taught at the American University. Most of her years were spent living in the Bay Area of California. There she made lifetime friends and finished raising a family. After her husband, Paul, passed away she then returned to Utah to live in Bountiful. While in Bountiful, she established a business and began a new phase of life.
Nancy was an exceptional business woman. She traveled all over the United States and Asia for her work. China was her second home and she loved working there. Hong Kong was the perfect area for Nancy to meet and greet potential clients. Her business practice, as well as the view from her favorite hotel in Hong Kong, was nothing short of incredible. She loved traveling to all types of foreign places. Nancy’s favorite vacations were on river boats in Europe. She was an avid Utah Jazz season ticket holder. Nancy made friends wherever she went and treasured each of those friendships. She was fun to spend time with and had an engaging presence. Her quick wit and ability to warm up a room will be missed.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Ellen (James) Connelly, sons Craig Laguillo and Paul Robert Steele, granddaughter Jennifer Connelly, and grandson Sean Connelly. She is survived by her brothers Tom (Joan) Lomax and John (Margy) Lomax and sisters Sally Holbrook and Kathryn (Ron) Anderson. Nancy was welcomed home by her parents, a sister Susan Marie, Paul Laguillo, and Dan Drenk and so many dear friends.
Grateful appreciation is given to Lakeview Hospital, her doctors and caregivers for their special care. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Nancy’s name to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
A celebration of her life will be held on October 10, 2015 from 2-5 PM at Ridgewood of Maple Hills Condominiums, 1374 Ridgewood Lane, Bountiful. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
