Nancy Mae Lukens

Nancy M. Lukens SOUTH WEBER – Nancy M. Lukens, wife of Gary L. Quigley, daughter of Doris M. and the late Edward E. Lukens, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2010 following a brief but fierce battle with cancer. Nancy was born on November 26, 1955 in Bethlehem, attended Freedom High School and moved to Tucson, Arizona to attend the University of Arizona where she earned a degree in Cultural Anthropology. Immediately upon graduation, she was employed by Western Electric, underscoring the relevancy of any kind of a degree when looking for a job. She continued her education at Pima Community College seeking an associate’s degree in electrical engineering. In 1985, she began her career with IBM where she was employed until the time of her death. Nancy enjoyed hiking with her dog Pete, with her good friends Tamie, Sharon and Troy, and with her husband Gary. She loved to travel and was game to go just about anywhere save the Artic where she argued that it might be a bit too cold. She loved to spend time with her friend Betty Sue and make travel plans. She enjoyed camping and river rafting as long as it was not to frightening. She met her husband Gary Quigley of Ogden, in Tucson, Arizona where they were married in September of 1986. She is survived by her husband Gary, her mother Doris, and her sisters Cheryl Lukens of Bethlehem, PA; Janice Lukens, wife of John Mullings, of Walnut Cove, NC; and Louan Lukens of Doylestown, PA. A special thanks to Dr. Gray and the staff of Utah Hematology and also to Vista Hospice staff for all your caring, support and guidance. Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Wednesday, March 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Nancy’s memory to your favorite charity.
