Nancy Farley McEntee

CLEARFIELD a€" Nancy Anna Francis Farley McEntee, 87, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2011 from causes incident to age. Nancy was born in 1923 in Jersey City, New Jersey, the daughter of Andrew Joseph and Mary Agnes Cooney Farley. In early 1941, she met the love of her life and married John (Jack) Thomas McEntee on March 17, 1943 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Over the nearly seven decades of courtship and marriage to one another, Jack never missed an opportunity to tell the love of his life that she "was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen". Together, they had six wonderful children, Jacqueline, Kathaleen, Sheila, Daniel, Nancy Jean and Timothy.

Nancy and Jack spent 21 years in the Army Air Corp and USAF military service and they thoroughly enjoyed all their stations and all of the wonderful friends they made. In the late 1960''s, she took up ceramics and enjoyed creating a vast variety of very useful and decorative pieces. She later became a near professional porcelain doll maker for which she also sewed each and every outfit. Nancy clearly had tremendous artistic abilities. She also enjoyed cooking, walking every day, sewing, reading, tending her rose gardens and most of all, going dancing with Jack and their very special friends, Bruce and Sharon Scholer and Glenn and Colleen Groll. Although they had many great friendships throughout their lives, they were extremely close to and greatly appreciated their dear neighbors Chuck and Helen Bly and Christine Deppe.

Nancy and Jack traveled much of the United States and portions of Europe during their military and civilian lives. They truly enjoyed visiting their children and grandchildren locally in Utah as well as San Francisco, Denver, Las Vegas and New York. The most special trips were the ones to Ireland where they visited with family and made new friends that have lasted for a lifetime.

Nancy was preceded in death by Jack in 2006 and her beautiful daughter Jacqueline Mead in 2008. She is survived by her remaining children and their spouses, Michael Mead, Kathaleen Grant, Sheila Coe, Daniel McEntee, Nancy Jean and Ron Greger, Timothy and Christine McEntee, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph''s Catholic Church, 510 24th Street, Ogden with Father Charles Cummins, officiating. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
