The Passing of Nancy Patricia Ray

LAYTON -Nancy Patricia Ray, 77, passed away April 15, 2016 at Fairfield Village of Layton, Utah.

She was born May 13, 1938 the daughter of James Chester and Mary Margaret Smith Young in Detroit, Michigan.

She married Jack Zane Ray on May 13, 1961.  He preceded her in death.

Throughout Nancy’s life she resided in Ferndale, Michigan, Southfield, Michigan and Layton, Utah.

Nancy was an officer on the Detroit Police Force and a teacher for 30 years at Monroe Elementary, and Chenolds Elementary Schools in Oakland County Michigan.

She was a Mentor Potter at Oakland Community College in Michigan.  She loved pottery, sailing, and other artistry.

Surviving are her son: Andrew J. Ray, daughter-in-law: Jeong Hee Ray, granddaughter: Jasmine Song Ray and grandson: Brenton Jones Ray.

Preceded in death by her son: Theodore Jesse Ray.

Memorial services will be held on May 14, 2016 at St. Mary’s Church in New Baltimore, Michigan.
