Nancy Van Vleet passed away suddenly on July 5, 2010.

She was born on June 15, 1952 in Riverside, California to parents Harvey and Helen Van Vleet. Her family later moved from Riverside to North Highlands, California, where she graduated from Highlands High School in 1970.

Nancy married Bruce Anderson in 1980 and lived in Marin County, California for the next 20 years. Although they later divorced, the marriage produced her son, Bron, who was a tremendous joy in her life.

In 2000, preparing for her 30-year class reunion, she reconnected with a fellow classmate, Mark Sage. They quickly fell in love and Nancy moved to Roy, Utah in July of 2001. Nancy and Mark married in a private ceremony on Antelope Island on May 10, 2002.

Nancy enjoyed art and creating beaded jewelry. She and Mark were members of the Utah Puppetry Arts Guild. They were also members of the Hill AFB Archery Club where Nancy served as the women''s activity director for two years. Her family is touched by the club''s dedication of the Nancy Van Vleet Memorial Annual Women''s Shoot.

Nancy was always a loving and giving person. She loved life and added a special sparkle wherever she was. Nancy was well-loved and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, survived by her husband Mark, son Bron, step-children Nora Moore, Dawna Kissmann, Angela Harrigan and son-in-law Tim Harrigan, Sean Sage and daughter-in-law Linsee Sage, and grandchildren Brianna Kissmann, Abigail Caulfield, Autumn, Josh, and Ezekiel Harrigan, Samantha, Elizabeth, Sean Jr. and Levi Sage, her brothers Erick, Carl and Val Van Vleet and sister Nena Van Vleet. Nancy is also survived by her only niece Hannah Michelle Van Vleet.

Memorial services will be held Monday, July 12, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary 3333 W 5600 S. In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary www.bestfriends.org. 5001 Angel, Kanab Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah 84741 (435) 644-2078.
