Nanette Carol Gray Jeffs

January 18, 1934 ~ July 18, 2017

Homemade bread, good smells, and storybook tales.  These were a few of our Mother’s favorite things.  Nanette Carol Gray Jeffs left this mortal life for a better place on July 18, 2017. She was born January 18, 1934 to Ralph S. and Hazel M. Stone Gray, the second of three children.

Nanette loved dolls as a child and that love never left her.  She later became an avid doll collector and was known for her famous Christmas time “Doll House” tours, complete with homemade desserts and storybook nooks, where parents and children could escape for an hour or two.  Mom found great joy in doing this for others.  She had an innate knack for decorating and was always receiving compliments on her beautiful home and furnishings.

Nanette graduated from Ogden High School and received an Associate Degree from Weber Junior College.  She met and married the father of her six children, Roger D. Jeffs, and traveled the world collecting antiques and experiences during a 20-year tour with the Air Force.  They were later divorced.

Mom was known as a great cook, a woman of great will and determination, and an avid nutritionist.  She helped many people with this knowledge.

Nanette is survived by her six children: Paulette (Mike) Black, Atlanta, GA; Tim Jeffs, Pocatello, ID; Laurie (Russ) Merrill, Springville, UT; Patti (Debbie) Jeffs, Layton, UT; Jennifer (Don) Bennion, Las Vegas, NV; Brenda (Devin) Neves, Logan, UT; and a sister, Bonnie (Darwin) Cheney, SLC, UT. Nanette has 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was a woman of great faith and with that faith left this world behind. She will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  The family will meet with friends on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at the mortuary. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
