ROY – Naoma Atkinson Avis, 75, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009 at McKay Dee Hospital.
She was born on October 31, 1933 to Paul LeRoy Atkinson and Annie Elizabeth White in Ogden, Utah.
Naoma married Benny Ray Avis June 6, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Benny passed away September 6, 1989.
She loved camping, embroidery, and having lunch with her friends. She also loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her dog and cat.
Naoma was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints and enjoyed doing work at the temple.
Surviving her are her children, Lynn (Denise) Avis of Joseph, UT; Glen (Ruthann) Avis of Ogden; Steven (Natalie) Avis of Taylor; Elaine (Dennis) Draper of Marriott/Slaterville; Kathleen (George) Brandenburg of Roy. Also are surviving are two brothers, Leslie and Dennis, two sisters, Deloris Moore and Joyce Weston, 28 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death is her husband, parents, grandparents, two sons, Bryan Dale and Brent Jay, four grandsons, Zachary Thomas, Brett William, Wiatt Jay, Paul Murray.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
Family and friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
