PLEASANT VIEW, Utah a" Heaven became a better place on Friday, September 17, 2010, as Naomi Clark Foster left many loved ones after courageously and optimistically fighting cancer for five years with various treatments. She was surrounded by her family at her home in Pleasant View.
Mom was born on July 19, 1926 to Orson R. and Lucille Barlow Clark in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended Farmington Elementary School, South Davis Jr. High and graduated from Davis High School in 1944. She then attended B.Y.U. Following graduation from B.Y.U. she moved to Rigby, Idaho where she shared her talents by teaching English, Speech and Drama at Rigby High School, Teton High School and Aberdeen High School. While teaching in Rigby, she was introduced to Ronald Brown Foster.
Mom and Dad were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 17, 1949. Together they journeyed through life experiencing the joys and challenges of raising a family and farming. They made many great memories traveling together and spending time in Island Park, Idaho.
Naomi was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings including President of the Primary, Young Women, Relief Society, Stake Relief Society Board, Counselor in various organizations, teacher, serving a mission to the Island of St. Thomas, and a member of a sealing team in the Ogden Temple for nine years. Mom was a perpetual missionary, never being ashamed to share her testimony through word and deed. Her faith and patience were exemplary. She possessed the gift of caring about and uplifting others, even in her most miserable moments.
Mom proudly fulfilled her calling as a mother and a wife. She happily answered to "Hey Mom" for many years. Her family and church were top priorities. Naomi''s involvement with the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Book Clubs, P.T.A. and Scouting programs brought her much joy.
Mom realized the power of music. She spent much of her life developing and sharing her musical skills on the piano and organ benches. Many congregations, weddings, funerals, graduations, and musical groups benefited from her talents.
The family expresses special thanks to Dr. Vincent Hansen, and staff and Inspiration Hospice for the care they rendered to our mother.
