“Together Again”

Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Naomi E. Sanders Lilly, 94, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, in Washington Terrace.  She was born on May 30, 1922 in Forrest Green, Missouri, to Ferdinand and Amelia Sanders the sixth of nine children.

On June 29, 1946, she married the love of her life, John “Roy” Lilly in Ogden, Utah, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where they were members. Together they raised three children.  They observed their 66th   anniversary before Roy’s passing in July of 2012.

Naomi helped Roy run their business The Home Supply Company for over 20 years.

She was an amazing homemaker.  Her greatest joy was her family, spending time with her grandchildren, including summer barbecues and holiday gatherings.  She enjoyed gardening and loved working in her yard, especially with her elaborate variety of roses.  She also enjoyed baking, cooking and wine making.  She enjoyed bowling in a league with her friends to age 93.

Naomi is survived by her sons, Rodney (Janet) and Roger; daughter, Bonnie (Mel) Roche; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Mae Emma Westhues.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; grandson, Bryan Lilly; daughter-in-law, Peggy Lilly; three brothers, and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3329 Harrison Blvd., Ogden, Utah.  Friends may visit with family on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 3329 Harrison Blvd., Ogden UT 84403 or American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.

The family would like to thank her caregivers at Stonehenge Assisted Living and from A Step Forward Hospice for their compassionate, loving care, especially Carole and Althea.
