Naomi Y. Rackham
OGDEN – Florence Naomi Young Toomer Rackham, 81, died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at her home in Ogden.
She was born November 30, 1927 in Provo, Utah, a daughter of Ralph and Florence Mildred Christensen Young.
Naomi married Delbert Ray Mace on October 5, 1944. They later divorced. She married James I. Toomer on November 28, 1949. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1965. Naomi and Art Rackham were married November 18, 1967 in Pocatello, Idaho. Art died May 26, 1996.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was active in doing genealogy.
Naomi enjoyed sewing, cooking and was a “Mother of All”.
Surviving are one son, Richard D. Mace, Roosevelt, UT; one daughter, Noreen L. Smith, Ogden; stepson-in-law, Bill Ercanbrack; 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and one and a half great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, LaVerl (Della) Young, Wallsberg, UT; Sheldon Boyce, Duchesne, UT; two sisters, Joyce (Roy) Larson, Wallsberg, UT; and Carol D. Haggerty, Duchesne, UT; stepbrothers, Chris (Jodi) Rackham, Riverdale; and stepsisters, Becky Ziprick and Debby (Gene) Kiesz, both of Ogden.
Preceding Naomi in death were her husbands, James and Art; parents; stepdaughter, Tammy Ercanbrack, and three brothers, Wendell R. Young, James Young, and Jack L. Young.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
