Naomi Grace Veich Sessions
Naomi Grace Veich Sessions age 89 graduated from this life on March 16, 2022. She was born January 24, 1933, to Jesse Thomas Veich and Ora Mae Crooks Veich in Spencer, Nebraska. She was the fourth of their five children, the youngest girl.
Naomi grew-up in and around Spencer a small farming town in Nebraska. Her family worked hard to make ends meet however she often told entertaining stories of ice skating, card games, hopping a freight train with her friends and family fun. She did well in school and graduated from Spencer High School then went to Normal School to train to be a schoolteacher. She taught K-6 for a year in a one room schoolhouse out on the Nebraska prairie. In her late teen years, she had an infection that caused a significant hearing loss which affected her all her life. She came to Utah to marry James Edwin Loock, together they had three children. They later divorced and Naomi married Royal (Rocky) C. Sessions.
Naomi worked at Hill Air Force Base as a computer programmer in the early years of this profession. After 25 years of service, she retired to travel with Royal and spend time with her grandkids. She was an avid genealogist and enjoyed family history. Naomi was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints June 30, 1998. She served in various callings in her wards, her favorite was working with the young children. Naomi loved to read, play games, do cross word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, hike and watch the birds in her backyard. She enjoyed growing flowers, she thought that a trip to the greenhouse was great fun.
She was a kind, caring person with a wry sense of humor. She was greatly loved and will be missed. What great comfort it is to know she is now in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ; she can hear the birds sing and is able to see and be with her departed family members.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, her three sisters, her husband Royal Sessions and her grandson Nathan Loock. Surviving her are her brother Curtis Veich (Janice), her children Terry A. Loock (Wendy) Layton, Cheryl L. Potter (Wayne) Layton and Jay T. Loock (Tammy) Layton, 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
