Natalie Benson Kidman

December 31, 1923 ~ February 8, 2018

OGDEN – Our beloved, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Natalie Benson Kidman, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2018. She was born on December 31, 1923 in Newton, Utah, a daughter of Emory Harold and Ella Parker Benson. She was raised in Newton and attended North Cache High School. Natalie and her friends attended dances in Cache Valley and at one of those dances, in Hyrum, she met her soulmate and best friend, Lloyd D. Kidman. On January 21, 1942, Natalie and Lloyd were married in the Logan LDS Temple. They enjoyed their life together for almost 60 years until his passing in 2001.

Lloyd and Natalie moved to South Ogden to raise their family. They continued to dance and taught ballroom and square dancing for many years and made many friends as Stake Dance Directors. In their later years, they enjoyed camping and traveling with her sisters and their husbands. Family gatherings were a big part of their life. Natalie loved to sew and made many articles of clothing for her daughters. She also loved to crochet and always had a blanket or beautiful doily she was working on. She liked to read. She enjoyed quilting and pieced together many beautiful quilts and blankets. Natalie was an excellent cook. Her children’s friends would always stop by the house for a piece of homemade bread and jam. But her greatest joy in life was her large family gatherings with her sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Natalie is survived by two sons and two daughters, Jerry Lloyd (Sue) Kidman, Riverdale; Harvey Jay (Shirley) Kidman, Ogden; Kathy (Herb) Brown, Layton; Ronda (Ray) Bowden, Boise, ID; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Natalie is also survived by two sisters, Reda Jenkins, Pocatello, ID; and Gladys (Bryant) Brady, Orem, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two sisters, Norene Bunn and Leah Johnson; and one brother, Neal Benson.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
