Nathan DeMar Olson
04/07/1973 - 02-14-2019
Nathan “Nate” Olson, son, brother, and friend passed away suddenly while at work on Thursday, February 14, 2019.
He was born in Castro Valley, CA. in April 1973. He spent only a year in San Mateo, CA before moving with his family to South Ogden, UT. Nate grew up in South Ogden attending Marlon-Hills Elementary, South Ogden Junior High, and graduating from Bonneville High School in 1991. Later he furthered his studies at Weber State University.
Nate spent his youth trying his hand at different sports including football, baseball, and snowboarding. He ultimately found his passion in the mechanical field. He had a knack of being able to fix just about anything with an engine. He turned that knowledge in to a career in the equipment rental business. First starting with the family business, honing his skills at Wilson Lane and finally coming back to the equipment rental business. He worked in several different positions within the industry. At the time of his death he was managing the Ogden branch of Universal Rent-All.
Nate thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors especially gliding down the slopes of Power Mountain or Snow Basin on his snowboard. Nate had a passion for cooking and trying out all sorts of different recipes. From his oven roasted turkey to his heavenly cheesecake bites he never went to family or friends without some fantastic dish for them to try. Always the perfectionist he was never satisfied with the way things turned out. Honestly, to all of us they all were delicious.
Nate leaves behind many friends and colleagues. He is survived by his father Douglas Olson, his brother Kurt (Kelly) Olson, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Jane Olson.
We will be having a celebration of life for family and friends at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Ogden-Weber Technical College scholarship fund in Nates honor.
