Neal Akeem Jacob Chancey, 33, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022 in Monroe, North Carolina.
He was born December 8, 1988 to Glendon Chancey III and Carmen Cruz in Brooklyn, NY.
Neal lived in New York until he was 11 years old where he grew a love for basketball, music, and art. After New York his family moved to Utah where he graduated from Roy High School and received awards for his artwork. His time in Utah made up the next 22 years of his life. In that time Neal’s light shined within the community. Everyone that met Neal would always be greeted with a smile and an embrace. Neal was an extremely motivated individual who led many sales teams in Utah. You may have crossed paths with him as a General Manager of Sears in Clinton or as a General Manager at Ashley’s Furniture in Layton. Neal loved being with his friends and family and we all loved being with him. He was an incredible Father who loved his children dearly. Neal will be remembered as our comedian, our brother, our protector, and as our light moving forward. Neal passed shortly after arriving in North Carolina at the age of 33, where he was planning to build a new future for his loved ones and himself.
