Nedra Lucille Turner Allen Bowman, was born on January 6, 1932 in Niter, Idaho to Clara (Bowler) and Orval Turner. She passed away peacefully in her home due to complications of COPD on Monday, February 20, 2017.
Her family moved to West Bountiful where she grew up and graduated from Davis High School. She met Leo Robert Allen on a blind date and was later married in the SLC Temple. They started their family after dad returned from his tour in Korea and were the proud parents of Robert Orval, Mary Jane and Michael Leo. They were later divorced and mom lived in various parts of the country and had many adventures.
She had many talents and excelled at them all. She was an incredible cook and hostess, as well as crafting, gardening, quilting and flower arrangements. She enjoyed bowling, golf, pool and being part of the “Red Hats” in St. George. She received many awards for her work and met many dear friends along the way.
In her later years, she married Dick (Richard) Bowman of Kaysville. They enjoyed hosting friends and family, going on cruises and travelling both here and abroad. Travelling to Israel was one of their most memorable trips. They enjoyed their time together until Dick’s passing in May of 2012.
After Dick passed, she moved to their St. George home where she had many dear friends. She loved the sun and warmth and being part of the local Red Hats group. In January of 2016 she moved back home to Bountiful to be near family.
She is survived by her siblings: Irene (Ron) Harris and Val Turner, her three children, eight grandchildren; Mike Jr., Vanessa, Andrew, Cameo, Amanda, Brooke, Chris and Shanyelle, nine great-grandchildren; Oakley, Madison, Aspen, Korbin, Slade, Bailey, Ryker, Presley, Jordan and one more on the way in March.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, one of which was very special as not only a niece, but a dear friend. Teresa Turner and mom had a very close relationship and loved each other “to the moon and back.”
