Neil Kevin Slade passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 18, 2023 at the age of 68 after the devasting effects of a stroke. Neil was born to Roger and Beth Slade on March 9th 1955 in Ogden, UT. He worked as an auto technician for over 40 years. Neil enjoyed cars, whether it was fixing them, racing them, or watching NASCAR and Formula One racing. He had a competitive nature, and always enjoyed a good game of poker. He also loved watersports, and enjoyed waterskiing, wakeboarding, and wake surfing.
Above all, Neil was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was his happiest surrounded by family, whether it was supporting his sons at their weekly bowling nights, taking the family out on his boat, or a quiet night with his wife eating take out from Golden Corral. His dedication to his family is a legacy that will never be forgotten.
Neil was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen (Ostler) Slade; His children Kody Slade (Jamie), Bobbie Peterson (Dave), Skyler Slade (Christina), Travis Slade, and Drew Slade; His step-children Cheri Ostler, Jeff Ostler (Ana) and Shannon Ostler along with 8 grandchildren and 7 step-grandchildren; his siblings Allan Slade (Jeanette), Diane Slade, Colleen Vernon (Clay) and David Slade (Kari).
He was preceded in death by his loving parents Roger and Beth Slade, along with his brother Dee Lynn Slade.
Neil will be deeply missed by all, and a viewing will be held for all who wish to attend on Sunday, April 23rd from 6-8 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building located at 700 E. 7500 S. Midvale, UT 84047. There will be a private graveside service for his immediate family the following day.
