Nellie Henrietta Skogerboe

Nellie Henrietta Skogerboe, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2016.  She was born on December 25, 1935 in Salt Lake City, UT to Joseph and Johanna Van Huizen.  She spent all of her youth growing up in Salt Lake City.  She attended West High School and was active in Acapella Choir.  She graduated in the top of her class in 1954.

She married Gaylord Skogerboe on July 23, 1958 in Salt Lake City.  She met him while they were students at the University of Utah.  In 1961 her son Michael was born in Salt Lake City.  In 1964 her daughter Susan was born in Logan, Utah .

She spent several years in Ft. Collins, Colorado while her husband worked for Colorado State University.  While living in Ft. Collins, she graduated from L.P.N. Nursing School.  She worked in the local hospital for several years.

In 1985 she moved back to Utah, to the city of Ogden.  She worked for Roy High School as a secretary and aide for over twenty years.  She loved Roy High and enjoyed working with the students.  She resided in Ogden until her death.

Henrietta is survived by her two children, Michael and Susan Skogerboe and a son-in-law, Angelo; and granddaughter, Rachel Iacoboni.  Her husband Gaylord preceded her in death on April 20, 2005.

Private services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
