LAS VEGAS, NEVADA a€" Nelsen Earl Bernardo, 29, passed away Monday, August 4, 2008 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Nelsen was born October 21, 1978 at Offutt AFB, NE; the son of Norman E. Sr. and Erlinda Iris Bernardo. He spent most of his life in Hawaii and Utah. He graduated from Northridge High School in 1996.

Nelsen served in the United States Air Force for eight years serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and traveling extensively.

He married his high school sweetheart, Crystal Martinez. Although they later divorced, they still loved each other. Nelsen was a talented artist and enjoyed the outdoors, snowboarding, and creating short films.

He was in the process of receiving a Graphic Design Degree from the Las Vegas Arts Institute and was employed by Zuffa LLC (UFC).

Surviving are his parents; grandparents (Gregorio Sr. and Jolita Iris) of Hawaii; brother, Norman (Maegen) Bernardo Jr.; sister, Judy (Jeremy) Bott; nieces and nephew in Utah; several aunts, uncles and cousins residing in Hawaii, California, Nevada, Maryland, and the Philippines.

Graveside services will be held Monday, August 11, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, where military honors will be accorded. Friends and family may call Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
