Neta Daily
July 5, 1927 ~ August 13, 2015
Our beautiful, sweet mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Neta Sullivan Daily, (Mary Vineta), 88, returned to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 13, 2015.
She was born in Ogden, Utah on July 5, 1927 to William H. Sullivan and Mary Vineta Smith Sullivan. Following her mother’s death due to childbirth complications, she was lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents until she was nine. After her grandmother’s passing, she lived with her father and step-mother Lillian D. Sullivan. She loved her new family which included a brother and sister. Neta attended Ogden High School and Weber State College.
She married the love of her life, Dean Daily, in 1955. They raised their family in Roy and moved to Ogden in 1980 where they enjoyed many sweet friendships and family gatherings.
She worked at Ogden First Federal and the IRS until retiring in 1989. Neta enjoyed serving in the LDS church, and volunteered for the American Cancer Society and McKay Dee hospital for over 20 years. Her greatest love was her family. She enjoyed traveling the world with Dean and family, gardening, crocheting, and playing board games with her grandchildren.
Neta was strong, independent, frugal and endearing, with a fun sense of humor that always made people smile.
Surviving are her daughter, Sheryl (Brad) Larsen; and son, Jeff (Jana) Daily of Park City, UT. She has four beloved grandchildren, Jed (Jessica) Larsen of Laguna Beach, CA; Kirt Larsen; Jenna Daily and Hayden Daily of Park City, UT; one brother, Bill (Joan) Sullivan, and one sister Barbara (Paul) Brann of Granada Hills, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, Garden of Peace, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
