NEVIN SALEM

2003-2019

Our family is devastated to let our loving community know that on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, Nevin Liam Salem peacefully passed away in his sleep at 4PM Mountain Standard Time after a tragic accident.  Nevin was born on December 23, 2003 to Mathew and Nicole Salem in Bountiful, Utah.

Nevin was a bright young man who was enrolled in college level classes and participated in the Science Olympiad three years in a row. He loved the earth and dreamt of being an environmental lawyer, often joking about how he would save the world one pro-bono case at a time.

Nevin loved his family above all else, most weekends choosing to stay home to be with his brothers to play board games or watch the newest Avengers movie. He enjoyed camping, hiking and dancing. He would do silly things like dance in the kitchen to Frank Sinatra and pace around the house when he felt passionately about something. He had a kind heart and was full of love.

Nevin’s parents, Nicole Salem and Mathew and Shannon (Kaposy) Salem were amazed by their eldest son’s achievements and the young man he had become.

Nevin was a wonderful big brother to Harry, Jude, Dean, Ivy and Paige Salem.  A special nephew to Katie Tucker and James Tucker.  His grandparents (Jackie and Doug Borges, Terri and Scott Stephen and Ken Tucker) could not be prouder of him.

Nevin was preceded in death by his grandfather (Charles Salem) and aunt (Amber Salem).

We will be celebrating Nevin’s life on October 12, 2019 at 1:00 pm at The Leonardo, Museum of Creativity and Innovation, 209 East 500 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111. Care entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
