FRUIT HEIGHTS a€" Newell John Law, 78, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 from Parkinsons Disease.

He was born March 27, 1932 in Bountiful, Utah the son of Samuel Charles William and Ruth Ann Ashby Law.

Newell married Noreene Phister on July 12, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple.

He served in the Army during the Korean War.

Newell was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Bishop, Stake President, Temple Sealer and Missionary.

He loved gardening and woodworking.

Surviving are his wife Noreene, children: Suzanne (Ed) Phillips, Brian (Sandra) Law, Perry (Terri) Law, Melinda (Curtis) Green, Shauna (Joel) Horne, Evan (Krista) Law, Jennifer (Ken) Zabriskie, foster children: Barbara (Raymond) Hatch and Josie (Rob) Farnsworth.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Fruit Heights Stake Center, 170 N. Mountain Road. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.

Special thanks to all the children and grandchildren who so willingly helped care for and pray for Newell. We are so grateful for the loving care given by the staff of Mountain Ridge Assisted Living and Vista Care Hospice.
