Nick “Bubba” Douglas Joynt
FARR WEST – A little piece of heaven dropped from the sky on January 20, 1993, to the waiting arms of Doug and Kathy Joynt. He was our miracle baby and a true gift from God. He was a blessing for over 15 years. We know in our hearts he is with our Lord and Savior, but we are selfish and are not quite ready to let him go. He died Sunday, October 19, 2008, doing what he loved the most, hunting with his Dad and the guys.
Nick loved to be with people. If he met you once he was ready to be your friend for life, regardless of your age. He was a hugger and always told his family and those near to him how much he loved them.
He was a member of Washington Heights Baptist Church and loved to watch the orchestra play.
Nick had a playfulness and silly quirkiness about him. He was a big St. Bernard that didn’t know his own strength. He loved to play baseball, ride bikes, motorcycles, ATV’s, hunt, ice fish, and camp. Someday he was going to move to Texas and become a Texas Ranger.
Nick was currently a sophomore at Freemont High School. Heartfelt thanks to all the special teachers and faculty at Pioneer Elementary and Wahlquist Jr. High for helping him make it this far.
Surviving are his parents, Doug and Kathy; sisters, Kellie (Scott) Hess and Beth Joynt; nieces and nephews, Brady, Jayd, Sam, Chloe, Jerrin, Corinne, Blake, and Mary; grandparents, Murl and Marian Bishop and Frank and Ellouise Montoya; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and three special sisters, Tiffany, Ashley and Shaylene.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Larry and Mary Joynt, and two precious little cousins, Michael Anderson and Carter Maroney.
Teenagers, please, never leave the house without telling your family you loved them. Even though Nick always told us he loved us, there will forever be a void because we will never hear his special words again, “Mom, Dad, I love you”.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
