Nina Kay Cady Eriksson
Nina Kay Cady Eriksson - "Kay" - of West Point, Utah passed away peacefully at Crestwood Care Center in Ogden on Friday, March 25, 2011 at the age of 69 after a long battle with cancer.
Kay was born January 1, 1942 in Thermopolis, WY to Charles Francis and Merna Angeline Cady. She spent her childhood in Ogden, Utah and attended Ogden High School.
She married Theodore Erik Eriksson on February 27, 1960 in Ogden, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 27, 1968.
Kay was active in the LDS Church, serving in the Relief Society, Primary, and Scouting. She was a devoted wife and mother. Later in life, she worked at Clearfield State Bank, America First Credit Union, and Blaine Jensen RV. She loved camping with her family, gardening, shopping, and reading.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harold Cady; her husband''s parents, Erik Theodore and Mary Hadfield Eriksson; and her brother-in-law, George Eriksson. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ted Eriksson; her children, Julie (Scot) Allgood, Erik (Caryl) Eriksson, Mary (Mark) Montgomery; seven grandchildren, who were the light of her life; a sister, Elaine (Bud) Haizlip; a sister-in-law, Raylene Eriksson; and several nieces and nephews.
Kay''s family expresses thanks to Hospice of Utah for their loving care and assistance.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
