Nina V. Hurd
BRIGHAM CITY a" Nina Viola Hurd, 90, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Country Lane Assisted Living in Brigham City.
She was born April 28, 1920 in Oakley, Idaho, the only child of LeRoy and Mary V. Wilson Lewis.
On July 3, 1939, Nina married Wendell Hurd in Burley, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Wendell preceded her in death May 25, 1993.
She was raised and educated in Oakley, Idaho, graduating from Oakley High School. She spent most of her life in Ogden, Utah. Nina was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held various callings throughout the years, including Sunday School Secretary, Ward and Primary Organist/Pianist and additional callings in the Relief Society.
Nina worked for the Internal Revenue Service for many years. She also was a meat wrapper for Safeway Foods.
She loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed playing the organ, embroidery, and crocheting. She also loved traveling to Hawaii, Nauvoo, Washington D.C. and going on many Senior Tours. Mom was very loving and supportive of her family. Nina loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart and they will miss her dearly.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to The Gardens Assisted Living, Country Lane Assisted Living, Love Hospice and all the physicians, nurses and assistants who loved her and provided for her care.

Surviving are three children, John (Carolyn) Hurd, Mantua; Joan (Donald, deceased) Baggett, Las Vegas, NV; Wendy (Kraig) Wiser, Plain City; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Family will visit with friends at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
