Noal Brown Smedley

Noal Brown Smedley, 80, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2015 of natural causes.
Noal was born in Syracuse, Utah on March 14, 1935 to Golden Waite and Ruth Brown Smedley.
As a youth, Noal achieved his Eagle Scout Award. Noal graduated from Davis High School and attended Brigham Young University before serving on an LDS Mission in Australia.
Noal married Pat Stanger on December 30, 1957 in the Salt Lake City Temple. During his first 11 years of marriage, Noal served in the Army Reserves.
During his life, Noal enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. He spent many hours working in his garden, photographing the sunsets and spoiling his grandchildren. Noal expressed his artistic talents through his stained glass, lapidary and sculpting. He never wasted an opportunity in recording his life’s journey through volumes of articles, pictures and memories.
Noal was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings including Bishop, High Councilman, Sunday School President and as a temple worker in the Mesa, Arizona Temple with his wife.
Noal is survived by his wife Pat, three children, Penny (Kenneth) Bodily, Neil (Elizabeth) Smedley, Troy (Chris) Smedley, 11 grandchildren, 13 grandchildren, two brothers, Paul Smedley and Kent (Shelly) Smedley.
Noal is preceded in death by his daughter Michelle Jensen and his brother, Weston Smedley.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Cottonwood LDS Chapel, 1800 N. 1800 W., Farr West, Utah. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
