Noel Carol Mietus
Our beloved mother, “Gramma Carol,” sister and friend returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday October 23, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. She died at home surrounded by her loving family.
Carol was born December 25, 1935 in south Weber, UT to Price Edison Bunot and Orba Stark Bunot. She graduated from Weber High school. She married Carl Henry Mietus in the Logan LDS Temple on October 8, 1954. They divorced in 1993. Carl died in July 1994. She lived in Hooper, UT for 19 years, in Sunset, UT for 50 years and spent the last three years living in Roy, UT.
Carol was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions over the years. She loved her gardening and yard work and took great joy and satisfaction in keeping her yard immaculate. She enjoyed her many hours spent on beautiful crafts and handiwork. Her pride and joy were her seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild and the special time she spent with them. They will dearly miss their “Gramma Carol.”
She is survived by her children: Suzanne and Reed Olsen, Kaysville, UT; Keith and Christina Mietus, Clearfield, UT; Dale and Sue Mietus, Clinton, UT; Shawn Mietus, and Jeff Dartez, (who could always make her laugh), Las Vegas, NV. Also surviving are her sister Valene (Dick) Parks, and her brother Douglas S. (Connie) Bunot.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ronald Price Bunot, her sister Beth Bunot and her baby son, Curtis Mietus.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT.
We would like to express our appreciation to Vista Care Hospice and a special thanks to Amy and Tania for their tender loving care of our mother. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Primary Children’s Medical Center Foundation.
Mom, you will live in our hearts forever. We love you!
