Noel Wadsworth Phister
Noel Wadsworth Phister passed away peacefully at his home on February 21, 2016. He was born on October 2, 1945 in Oakland, CA to Raymond and Helen Phister and was raised in Ogden and Bountiful, UT. For the past 34 years, he has lived in Layton, UT. He was married to Terry Dunn, later divorced, and married Karen Cable and was later divorced. Noel married Marlene Love Phister on July 11, 1981 and they were later sealed for time and eternity in the Ogden LDS Temple on August 22, 2009.
Noel served in the United States Army and was deployed to Vietnam. He also was the President of the Layton Eagles from 1980-81, was an avid bowler and competed at the national level. He enjoyed small engine repair, target shooting, camping, fishing and was a big Nascar fan. Noel was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving as a home teacher.
Noel is survived by his wife and children: Raymond Noel (Mindy) Phister, Tina Rae (Johnny) Stevenson, Sheryl Sessions-Longfellow, Susan (Darren) Hincks, and Shelli (Dennis) Gardner; brother Everett (Gloria) Phister and sister Noreene Phister Law; brother-in-law Byron Combe;13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Arline Combe, and one brother-in-law Newell Law.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Friends may visit with family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and on Friday from 12:45 to 1:45pm at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton.
