Our beautiful loving matriarch passed away peacefully on Saturday October 7, 2023.
Mom was born in Kenilworth Utah, to Earl and Bernice Johansen. She was the second of three children. The family moved often until they settled in Ogden. Mom attended Grant Elementary, Central Junior High and graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1961. She met and married the love of her life Larry B. Rentmeister on June 9, 1961, in the Logan Utah temple. Together they had seven incredible children, but so many more called her mom.
Mom could always be found in the kitchen preparing homemade meals. She enjoyed making her house into a home where everyone was welcome and accepted. She loved being with her family, cooking, canning, traveling, talking to grandkids about their lives and finding out what was happening with them. Some of her favorite places to visit were Ireland and the Hawaiian Islands. Sunday dinners were something you didn’t want to miss! We are so grateful for her and all the time she spent taking care of us and our friends. Holidays were so important to mom; they were a time to bring family back around and celebrate!
She is so incredibly proud of her 23 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Mom leaves behind her beloved husband of 62 beautiful years; sons Kirk (Paula), Kim (Brandy), Kenneth (Amie), and Jon (Melissa); daughters, Raunie (Gary) Willden, Carolyn Rentmeister, and Kristie (Steven) Archuleta; sisters, Pam (Ron) Fields and Pat Johansen.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard and son Ted.
