Nonya Ree Truman Miller
April 26, 1944 ~ January 6, 2021
OGDEN, UT–Our dear loving mother, grandma, great-grandma, Aunty, and friend left this earthly life too soon on January 6, 2021 from Covid. Mom was welcomed with open arms to be with our Lord and Savior and with loved ones passed, great-grandpa and grandma Force, grandma Eleanor, her brother Uncle Truce Truman, her grandbabies Marissa Ann, Shaylee, and great-grandbaby Nash.
Mom was one unique incredible person. She was kind, compassionate, loving, strong willed, very independent, hard working, honest, and also stubborn. She would give you a piece of her mind if you liked it or not. She was the kind of person that would do anything for a friend. Mom had many friends that could call her anytime to chit chat or give advice. Moms home was a place of gathering to do just that….chit chat, have a cerveza, glass of wine, while sharing her wisdom of plants, flowers, dogs, birds, people and life in general.
Mom was famous for her special homemade burritos she kept hidden in the freezer for special times. Mom’s home was the place to be for Thanksgiving every year. Mom always made the best Thanksgiving dressing and of course the best yams, we got to watch her burn those marshmallows every time.
Mom especially loved animals. She was the rescue mom for dogs, birds, kitty cats, even the rats in her yard she would catch and release. Mom had many dogs growing up, they were her life. She was able to have her Mazy next to her when she took her last breath. Mazy passed soon after mom. Mom will be the doggy mom in heaven.
Mom adored her children and grandchildren. She spoke highly of them and so proud of their accomplishments. Always proud to say her son was a professional football player, her daughter, because she had six beautiful grandchildren from her. Mom’s famous quote was “if you want to try to control something, go plant a garden, flowers, do yard work”. Also if you want the best night’s sleep, hang your sheets out to dry in the sun for that crispy clean smell when you lay your head down on those fresh cotton sheets.
Our mom’s are our foundation of who we grow up to be. How proud we are to have had a mother raise us on her own, with her unique qualities, to get us through this lifetime. Mom was more than a mother, grandmother, aunty, friend. She was our BEST FRIEND!
Mom is survived by her son, Shawn (Rainey) Miller, daughter, Hidie (Steve) Bohman, grandchildren, James D.Brown, Taylor and Melissa Brown, Breann Brown, Kaylee Brown. She is preceded in death by her mother Eleanor Hartman, brother Truce Truman, grand baby Marissa Ann, Shaylee and great-grandbaby Nash.
There will be a celebration of life when the weather permits us to go to Oregon where she loved to be.
In memory of our mom donate your time to any animal shelter or rescue shelter or just plant a flower or plant.
