Norita Hadley Barnes, 87, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the home of her son in Page, Arizona. She was born March 1, 1937, in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Percy Willard and Arvilla Fuller Hadley. She graduated from Ogden High School.
Norita married her sweetheart, Gayle Harold Barnes, on May 31, 1955, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They spent 51 and a half years together on this earth.
She was a devoted loving wife and mother. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Norita served faithfully in the Relief Society and Primary organizations, Cub Scouts, and as a Temple Ordinance Worker. Norita worked for many years as a clerk for county and federal governments and as a Red Cross Volunteer.
Norita found joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, serving others, watching the Phoenix Suns games, chocolate covered orange sticks, card games, needlework, music, and reading. She did not enjoy flying or swimming.
Surviving are her son, Michael Robert (Shannon) Barnes, Page, AZ; daughter, Carolyn (Brett) Trejo, Vail, AZ; daughter, Christine (Trent) Bohman, Washington; daughter, Kimberly (Kevin) Edington, Pomerene, AZ; daughter-in-law, Tamara Bushnell; sister, Fay (John) Beus; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gayle Harold Barnes; her two sons, Gayle Kevin and Bart Douglas Barnes; her parents, Percy Willard and Arvilla Fuller Hadley; her sister, Barbara Jean Hadley Willey; and her two brothers, Dee Willard and Hugh Robert Hadley.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
