Norma Lee Chard

Norma Lee Chard, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her, died of diabetic complications on the morning of Tuesday, October 28, 2008.

Norma was born October 17, 1945 in Ogden, Utah to Elden G. Chard and Lois Olsen Chard. She was raised in Peterson and graduated from Morgan High School.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Norma attended Weber State University and graduated from the University of Utah to become a nurse and follow in the footsteps of her mother. As expected of such a brilliant and compassionate woman, she excelled in her profession and worked as the Head Nurse and Director of Nurses at various hospitals within the Mountain West.

She was an excellent cook. She loved her family, spoiled her nieces and nephews and loved to organize parties and activities. She loved to travel. Perhaps her most memorable trip was with her mother, Lois, to the land of her ancestry: England and Norway. And we know that the visions of these beautiful places, like her beautiful life, kept her heart alive long into the illness that claimed her sight. And we know her vision is now restored.

Norma is survived by her siblings, Maria (George) Neville, of Medford, OR; Douglas (Susana) Chard, of Peterson; Margie Harris, of Wilford, ID; James (Diana) Chard, of Peterson; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 1st at 1:00 p.m. at the Morgan North Stake Center, 2755 West Old Highway Road in Enterprise, Utah.

Friends and family may call Saturday from 11:00 to 12:45 p.m. at the Stake Center.

The family wishes to thank those wonderful members of the Peterson Ward who have assisted us in taking Norma to her appointments and caring for her many needs. Norma also grew close to many of her hospice nurses and caregivers and many thanks is given for the loving friendship you gave Norma these last few years of her life. Norma, any pain we feel at your loss is overwhelmed by the joy of knowing that you are made whole again, and that you are now reunited with the parents you loved so dear. We could not know what you suffered, but we learned much form your sacrifice. All that''s ended now. We love you.

Interment, Peterson Cemetery.
