Norma Edwards Fackrell

PLAIN CITY a€" Our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Norma E. Fackrell, passed away of causes incident to age on Sunday, September 9, 2007.

She was born October 28, 1919 in West Point, Utah, to William J. and Alice K. Edwards and was the last surviving of 12 children.

She married Seymour L. Fackrell on December 21, 1941. He passed away November 20, 1971.

Norma lived in West Point in her early years and quit school in the 8th grade to care for her younger brothers after her mother died. Somehow, that did not stop her from having 11 children of her own! She was happiest when surrounded by her children and her grandchildren at their numerous family occasions. She was always up for anything and knew how to take the constant teasing from those who loved her the most. She loved the Atlanta Braves, attending any sporting activities her children and grandchildren were involved in, family camp-outs, and traveling to visit her extended family. She made a fabulous potato salad and loved having everyone over for Sunday dinners. She retired from the old St. Benedict''s Hospital and then volunteered for 26 years at McKay-Dee Hospital. She touched a lot of lives and will be missed by the many people who knew her.

She is surviving by her 11 children: Carma and George Whiting, Ogden; Ann and John Gilmore, Layton; Linda Street, La Habra, CA; Jim Fackrell, Ogden; Gary and Valene Fackrell, Aloha, OR; Val and Shelly Fackrell, Ogden; Karen and Richard White, Ogden; Jan and Bob Carney, Ogden; Marge Fackrell, Ogden; Jay and Cindy Fackrell, Ogden; and Norma Jean and Jeff Baltazar, Mtn. Green; 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Friday, September 14 at 11 a.m. at the West Point Cemetery.

Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
