In memory of Norma Weston Genetti, our loving mom, grandmother, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at her home. Norma was born on April 4, 1928 to Walter Weston and Jennie Alberts. She was raised and attended schools in the Ogden area.
Mom started working at the early age of twelve for the potato chip factory, American Pack Co. and would also clean homes for family members. She had a happy childhood even though it was during the depression.
Mom met her sweetheart, Albert, in February 1946. After a very short courtship they were married on April 18, 1946. To that marriage came five beautiful daughters, Carol, Linda, Arlene, Diane and Debbie. Mom and Dad worked hard together to raise and provide for us girls. Mom often worked evenings during the summer so that we could have nice clothes for school. We were taught incredible work ethics by both of our parents.
Mom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, attending the Adams Ward. She loved going to the temple with her friends. Mom enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and gardening. She was known for her beautiful well kept yard which until this year she took care of herself. But most of all mom''s pride and joy was her posterity of eighty. She loved us all and was a great example of Christ like service. On April 19, 1994, mom was sealed to dad in the Ogden LDS Temple, an eternal family. After twenty-one years, mom is finally back in the arms of her sweetheart, our dad. What a happy reunion, we are so happy for you, mom, and we will all miss you so much. Well done thy great and faithful servant.
Surviving are daughters, Carol (Joe) Clarke, Linda Applonie, Arlene (Steve) Sparrow, Diane (Duane) Helms, and Debbie (Roger) Hepworth; 20 grandchildren, 35 great- grandchildren; sister, Blanche Mower; and many great neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Genetti; son-in-law Hal Applonie; great-granddaughter, Lily Applonie; parents, brother, Heber Weston; and sister, Arlene Moore.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
