Norma Janet Russell Holstein
OGDEN a" Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister passed from this earthly life to be with her love, Robert, on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at her home.
She was born June 17, 1922 to her parents, James A. and Myrtle F. Russell. She was lovingly raised with her brothers and sisters on the family farm in Roy, Utah. She graduated from Weber High School and went on to work at The Arsenal at Hill Air Force Base and Paramount Dairy.
She married her love, Robert D. Holstein, on October 23, 1944 and shared with him a life of giving "Hawaiian Hospitality" to whomever dropped by. Their back patio barbeques were legendary and their home was a haven to all of their family and friends. Norma was always willing to listen to you, teach you, and FEED you. She loved to camp, fish, cook and garden. She always let Bob take credit for their prize-winning tomatoes she grew from seed.
Surviving are her daughter, Margie (John) Loftus, Slaterville; and her son, Roger Holstein, Ogden; family addition Joseph (Pat) Liu, Roy; a sister, Marva Roberts, Roy; six loving grandchildren, Tina Olsen, Brett Loftus, Teresa Holstein, Tracy Holstein, Cathryn Holstein and Robert C. Holstein, 10 loving great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Preceding her in passing was her husband, Robert D. Holstein, brothers, Leonard Russell and Kenneth Russell, and sisters, Margie Russell and Helen Sodenkamp.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Stephen Bruce and his nurse Laurie at South Ogden Center for Family Medicine for their kindness and caring.
